Koalas are popular in our area.
Fauna in this region is not vast but perhaps a lot is rear and some quite common to visually see on most trips and for the serious you should contact the local field naturalist for the special tours of the region. Numerous Kangaroos, Koalas, Emus, echidnas, snakes of all types as tiger, Brown, Black are fairly common in the hot summer days in most of the forests with plenty of stump tail lizards, Blue tongue lizards to the turtles in a lot of the forests. The Endangered Quails, or Bandicoots your better talk to the Field Naturalists for information or tours or check with the local D.N.R.E. department offices for information or pamphlets. There is the nuscience factor of ferule cats and foxes that a rear disaster to the native fauna and especially bird life and baby lambs and the list just goes on!! Numerous Possums as Bushie tailed, Small Ring Tails compete for survival in the forests against some of these introduced pests that are nearly imposable to control!! It is not unusual to view most of the common species of fauna just about anywhere near the state forest drives and if the amount of bird life and fauna available it?s a good idea to go on tour with a pair of bionockulars!!1
